In order to promote research on SADC trade matters, TIPS (under an AusAid funded research project) has added new data types to the website. The latest addition includes SADC and Non-SADC country tariff files which can be downloaded online. TIPS is seeking, through enhancing the availability of tariff and trade data in the public domain, to promote research and evidence based policy-making in the region.
Please note that tariffs will be updated as and when TIPS receives them. It is hoped that these new additions will add value to academic and public research. We specifically encourages students of international economics to look at and utilize the tariffs and trade data at our disposal through the TIPS SADC Trade website. Interested parties can comment and suggestions on other data types which they want to utilize are welcome.
If you would like to be informed of any updates or if you would like to comment, direct all queries of your to Mbofhi. Also, TIPS has obtained historical tariff offers from most SADC member states. Users interested in these data are also request to e-mail such requests to Mbofhi, as these data are not available online.
