The report makes an honest effort to analyse the following regarding essential oils; why they present an opportunity for SADC farmers and traders; importance and common uses; production activities, that is, the stages entailed, including the type of weather conditions suitable for most plants; and, the methods used to extract oils from the plants including issues of quality. The trade section, most importantly, looks at the world's net importers, which are the countries that present export opportunities for SADC. The latter analysis includes issues of tariffs and non-tariff barriers (NTBs).
